Murphy Landing Resort began operations in 1950; its current owners, John and Mary Uradnik, bought the resort in 1976. Today, Murphy Landing is one of the few remaining classic “Mom and Pop” fishing resorts in northern Minnesota, with eleven updated modern cabins (four of which sit back on a small hill). The season at Murphy Landing runs from mid-May through September, with some guests returning for fall bird and deer hunting. The resort officially closes at the end of deer hunting season each year.
